An Eternal Exchange

“Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life.
Whoever comes to me will never go hungry,
and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”

John 6:35 (NIV).

I devour everything around me as I feel this hunger.

Chewing on affirmations, while swallowing prayer after prayer.

Even when I consume daily spiritually-enriched meals,

I still find myself looking for more to eat.

Then I hear a whisper…

“You consume these meals of finite nourishment,

Yet I offer you an eternal communion.

Nothing is all that remains once consumed.

I have given you an edible exchange, that will feed you forever.”
