“The tongue has the power of life and death”

Proverbs 18:21a (NIV).

From the blaze of my words into heated arguments,

Only charred attitudes and scorched egos remain;

And I’m left sifting through the ashes of my feelings.

How do I wield the fiery power of the things I say?

Then I hear a whisper…

“Arise from these ashes, like the phoenix,

Purifying previous intents for destruction

By realigning your purpose behind such power.

Let your words ignite commitments and conversations

That will lead to a combustion of creativity and clarity.”
