Metamorphosis

“And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

Mark 11:25 (NIV).

How many times do I tell others that I forgive them;

Only to follow up later with, “Still, remember when…”

In this revolving incomplete process of forgiveness;

How do I create the fresh starts I desire, and let go of the past?

Then I hear a whisper…

“Painful circumstances create a chrysalis around your heart.

Use your forgiveness to push through, 

Spread your wings and feel the freedom.

As you excel to new heights, released of dead weight,

Know that I too forgive you in this metamorphosis.

So now when you forgive, there is no turning back.”
