Undoing the Unease

“but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm.”

Proverbs 1:33 (NIV).

I’m not sure when the thought, “Nothing comes free”

Became synonymous with, “Nothing comes with ease.”

Now, I find myself burdened under the weight of anxiety,

While waiting for the other shoe to drop in moments of peace.

How can I enjoy Your blessings in my life, when it feels too good to be true?

Then I hear a whisper…

“Stop searching for what is designed to be absent in times of ease.

A river’s powerful currents become freeing flows with just a change of direction.

Instead of fighting, feel the invitation to peace and rest that accompanies it;

Turn your focus towards Me, and boldly take your next steps in life.”
