Quiet Guidance

“After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.”

1 Kings 19:12 (NIV).

Rattled and shaken from daily decisions,

I stumble into the crossfires of my fears and my faith;

Only to light fuses of confused & cluttered thoughts in my mind. 

Even when I seek serenity in my surroundings,

How can I survive the explosive ringing in my ears?

Then I hear a whisper…

“Like the whispering winds through the trees after a storm,

Listen for Me in the breeze of your aftermath.

When violent vibrations of assaulting sounds seem too loud,

Look for My quiet, everlasting wave of guidance.

Now, tune your ears to My frequency.”
